New Linkedin Profiles: From Dynamic Profile to a Dead-End

What distinguishes Linkedin from regular job sites and a simple CV was
that Linkedin was a ‘live’, dynamic profile reflecting the recent
changes in one’s career and expertise. The profile was supported by
wordpress blogs and your personnal website links to provide extensive
information about you. Not anymore.

The new profile pages on Linkedin are not supported by WordPress
anymore; your blog pieces are no longer visible. One could argue that
the two companies may be ending their partnership, but the new profile
page also lacks the website link feature. Therefore, you cannot direct
people to your own webpage or blog.

It is possible that Linkedin is trying to force members to purchase
their premium account in the event that they want to connect with
someone. Their strategy should not be to force members, but to offer a
value to customers that they cannot resist.
